This course is co-designed and facilitated by individuals on the spectrum together with experienced educators, and offers participants an alternative way of viewing autism. It introduces a strengths based approach to working with individuals with autism and references practical considerations to help understand how autism affects the individual and strategies to support them utilise their strengths and overcome any challenges they encounter.
Topics covered in this course can be tailored to your organisation’s needs, but include the below:
The program covers a range of topics including the social model of disability and neurodiversity, the benefits of neurodiversity to employers, culture and society, fluctuating functioning and how to manage and plan for different situations. The ultimate aim is to help participants understand how autism affects them personally and thereby building their confidence and self-awareness.
