On Sunday 14 May, six urbanised businessmen will set off to tackle the adventure that is the Gibb River Road on their trusted mountain bikes – a gruelling 660 kilometre, life defining, team relay cycling event from Derby to the world acclaimed million acre El Questro Wilderness Park. Team “Spectrum Savers”, consisting of Adam Shephard, Tom Henderson, Jason Hick, Gary Steinepreis and Rod Davidson, are back for another (and hopefully last) attempt to complete the gruelling event. While some competitors are fully fit, lycra-clad and serious about cycling, this team is more about fun, friendship and fundraising!

In 2021, they raised an astonishing and much needed $90,000 for Spectrum Space – the highest raising of any Gibb team! This year they’re hoping to regain that title so Spectrum Space can expand the support of autistic people and services in regional WA. Regional WA’s autistic community is underfunded and under-resourced and we’d like to change that!

Did you know that 75% of autistic people don’t complete education beyond year 12 and that the unemployment rate for autistic people is almost eight times the rate of people without disability. Autistic people and their families are also much more likely to feel socially isolated. Spectrum Space has social groups and workshops that have been proven to alleviate some of these challenges. Join us to empower autistic kids and young adults to reach their full potential. Thank you for your support!
